FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The short version of what firms ask us most.
Product
- What is Piramade?
- Piramade is the first AI-enhanced engineering precedent platform. It connects to the project archives your firm already owns (calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications) and turns them into a searchable, trusted knowledge base, so your engineers can find and reuse proven solutions in seconds.
- What can my engineers actually search for?
- Precedent across the whole firm: by discipline, document type, year, location, or project stage. Every document gets an AI summary, and results link straight through to the original file in your own storage.
- Which document types are supported?
- Piramade is built around published engineering deliverables: calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications. These are the documents that hold most of a firm’s reusable knowledge.
- Do our files get moved or copied into Piramade?
- No. Piramade connects to your existing project storage (local servers, SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive, and more) and your files stay exactly where they are. There are no migrations and no changes to how your teams work.
Security & data
- Is our data used to train AI models?
- Never. Your data is not used to train AI models. This is a contractual guarantee from our providers.
- Can other Piramade clients see our data?
- No. Your encryption keys and storage are isolated to your organisation. No other client can access your data, by design.
- Can Piramade modify our files?
- No. Piramade has strictly read-only access. It can never edit, delete, or alter anything in your source systems.
- How are internal permissions handled?
- Your existing security and permissions are respected. Piramade fits inside the access controls you already have rather than replacing them.
Getting started
- How disruptive is the rollout?
- It isn’t. You connect Piramade to your existing storage with read-only access, processing runs automatically, and your engineers simply start searching. No migrations, no workflow changes, no retraining of teams.
- What does it cost?
- One monthly subscription for the whole firm, priced on your total number of employees, from AUD $600 a month. That is typically less than one billable hour per engineer per month, with no lock-in and nothing to pay upfront. Work out your price →
- Couldn’t we build Piramade ourselves?
- You could try, but it’s unlikely to be cost effective. Piramade is built once and shared across many firms, so each firm pays a share and gets every new feature. See the full build vs buy comparison →
- Is Piramade right for a firm like ours?
- If your firm produces technical deliverables, yes. Piramade is built for small to medium structural and multidisciplinary engineering practices, under 1,000 employees.
Company
- Who is behind Piramade?
- Piramade was founded by Karina Siems, a chartered engineer (CPEng MIEAust, CEng MICE). It is built by engineers, for engineering firms. Read the full story on our About page.
